Ski Equip is a ski clothing & accessories provider based in Hazel Grove, Stockport. We provide cost effective ski gear with the type of customer service you can only get from a family run business with more than 35 years experience. As former teachers and having organised many ski trips over the last 4 decades, we provide a level of support and advice that is rarely found in today’s world of faceless retail. Ski Equip specialises in school ski groups but also supplies families and individual skiers, as well as school uniform, sports kit, leavers hoodies and other personalised garments.

When the idea for Ski Equip was first conceived, Steve Tiffany was a young PE teacher at Cheadle Hulme High School. He was involved in many sports and outdoor activities such as canoeing, sailing, rock climbing and a relatively new sport, skiing. Steve was interested in looking at opening these experiences to a wider cross section of society through schools. With a group of students and teachers coming together, more affordable options could be negotiated with travel companies.

In the early 1980’s, UK schools started taking ski groups abroad to Alpine countries. One of the main barriers encountered at this time was the affordability of clothing and equipment, there was very little lower-mid range ski gear on the market. Clothing and accessories would often be purchased by first time skiiers on arrival in resort at exorbitant prices. As a ski party leader at Cheadle Hulme and later Marple Hall School, Steve Tiffany set about filling this gap in beginner clothing & accessories by supplying ski suits to local school groups himself.

And so Ski Equip was born. The company was established as a sole enterprise in 1986 has grown steadily since then. The range of products now covers all necessary clothing and accessories for skiing as well as school uniform, sports kit, personalised hoodies and much more. Some recent innovations such as the £100 value  have proved massively popular with our oldest partners as well as brand new customers.

Through many changes in the market in recent times, Ski Equip maintains its customer focus as a family run business. With founders rooted in the teaching profession, the priority remains serving individuals, families, schools and ski party leaders from their own perspective. The advice and experience we offer goes way beyond simply supplying customers with products. All members of the Ski Equip team are knowledgeable in the field and dedicated to continually improving what we do.
